I think the Wii is the perfect platform for classic arcade shooters such as this, the controller is perfectly suited for these games types as is with the Wii Zapper which I have yet to find as I want one.

If you own any of the other 2 or perhaps both high def gaming machines I think a Nintendo Wii is a perfect machine to own additionally alongside the others if you want some nice arcade shooting fun!

Looking forward to this game!

I'm not so sure, I've never found the Wii remote to be that accurate as a pointing device. I can't remember ever pointing at the exact area I wanted to and having the on-screen pointer line up and if you leave the remote pointed at the screen the on-screen pointer will waver around, even if the remote is resting on a table or something.

Maybe this is accurate enough for old-school on-rails shooters, but It's not as accurate as old-school Gun-Cons. Remains to be seen what the new Gun-Con is like of course, could be just as bad.
