"The Wii is the antithesis of the Xbox 360. It's strictly for hardcore gamers. The attachment rate for the Xbox 360 is much higher than for the Wii. People who buy the 360 really like games... I think the current trend is that most people aren't buying the Wii as a game machine, but as a toy... It seems that Sony isn't sure what it wants to do. Is it making high-end electronics or a game console for gamers? I want them to clearly define their console."
Now this guys knows his stuff, FINALLY someones said it, if i was wearing a hat i'd take it off to him, thankyou!

Its gonna be extremely interesting to see the PS3 fans reaction on this one since they hold Final Fantasy very dearly to themselves since its a PS3 only title...But what I dont get is if this guy says 360 owners love gaming and the PS3 is a confused system why not release FF13 on the 360 as well???
Now I am confused hahaha

I totally agree, Wii is a toy.
Plus after 10 minutes of playing Wii sports I'm bored, unless I'm playing with friends then it's 15 minutes... It's mostly novelty games, IMHO, and I'm not interested in that.

What he says is very accurate. The wii is seen as a Toy by most of the world not a games console and most parents (who are the ones mainly buying them) will be expecting it keep there kids happy for a few months before they get something the next "big" toy for their birthdays.
Sony is confused a bit about what they are trying to make the ps3 although the test on the games front for the ps3 will be it's second year; it's first year of games compares failry well with the 360's first year.
I've had a ps3 since March and have about 8 games at present which is a much as I can afford so I quite pleased they're getting spread out. 2 decent games a month is all I need or I'll be missing out on a lot of games which I simply can't afford.
360 has had 2 years on the shelves and over the last 12 months some games actually got released that are worth buying but it needs more or it'll be the same 5 or 6 games released every year; people will get sick of Halo if it's just a new Halo game every year; Microsoft could do with more games that aren't on the pc otherwise in the long term a pc (which every house has - if not several) and a ps3 will offer the wider variety in the long term.
Square seem to mainly be backing the ds, psp and ps3; maybe with the next generation Sqaure maybe looking more to the 360 but Sqaure don'd od multi format and the PC releases have never really worked out and the similarities between the pc and 360 may have something to do with it.
What's good to see for the industry and therefore gamers is that there is a proper battle now which will last for a number of years and something for everyone.
Sorry that;s a long post
