Absolutly useless update I am along with many of my friends online hate the idea of checking your friends of your friends list.
I will be ringing Microsoft to complain about this useless update.
What about a 4 way chat? 4 way vid chat?
I am sure there are other updates Microsoft could probably do but this one is crap.

You'll be ringing them to complain that you won't be using a feature in their free update? And I thought you were Microsoft's posterchild for fanboyish enthusiasm!
Seriously, though -- don't. I used to work in a call centre, and all you'll get is a low-paid person listening to your asinine complaint, before logging it somewhere that'll never get read. You might as well save yourself and the person on the other end of the line the bother.

I feel for Microsoft's support desk having to be subjected to the whining of upset fanbots. But at least, for a few minutes, they won't be polluting SPOnG with their bullshit, and it will make a pleasant change from calls about Red Rings o' Death.
Admittedly, I have had enough of MySpace and Facebook. I have to admit I too would be upset if something like that infiltrated my gaming world. It's bad enough getting nosey remarks from people I went to school with 20 years ago on my PC. They can steer well clear from my PS3, thanks.

Unfortunately I think Home has that one covered....
Agreed though, Im pretty tried off all this facebook/myspace crap. The sooner the younger generation calls it 'lame' and I can jump off the band wagon without 'loosing all my friends' the better!
All this update does is provide the 10yo tools, who's balls I wish would drop sooner than the agonising 15secs it takes me to find their mute button, another reason to request to be my 'friend' after just one online match where not only did we not speak or garner any semblance of 'friendship', but I wasnt aware of their presence beyond the corpse I happily danced over whilst increasing my kill count for the team of actual friends Im playing with, just so they can claim the crown of "I have the most (imaginary) friends... look, LOOK! Im COOL!". Now what would be a far more useful is if M$ provided me not just the option of 'deny friend request', but rather a 'FCUK OFF T**T' button, with prehaps a sprinkling off added vocal abuse of my choice to accompany it, whilst cleverly easing the pain of loading the next match. Although its less fun compared to a good bout of banter on the live, Ive found the PS3 does have a pleasant silence online. /rant/

Well lets put it this way, Xbox Live is still leagues ahead of PSN...I am keen on seeing how HOME turns out as that might prove to be some competition if its set out right.
