Of course it is important to know.
I mean, the console which most people buys is also the one which will get the most titles probably, also it's also good to know if there'll be someone to play against online.

According to the news-wire, “That ‘sold’ number refers to units ‘sold into retail’”, this does not mean Xbox 360s actually flogged to gamers because it also takes into consideration units in transit and in store inventories.
Isn’t that true for everyone’s figures??

Tht site uses the Media Create, NPD, etc. figures, which are all based on sell-through figures from retailers and suffer from the problems I mentioned above. They are probably closer to the actual numbers sold, but these is an amount of estimation in the figures based on the percentage of the market they get data for.
