"So there have been bits and pieces of what purported to be a leaked internal QA on the subject of the PlayStation 3 doing the rounds of late."
Internal my a$$ this is a press release. In order to make people digest that PS3 "is a PC" an not a console.. (yeah right...) and that is why its price is higher than the rest.
Going through this alone is a brainwash .. repeats so many times "is PC" and answers to why they degraded the anounced prototype "It doesn't matter".
...what a bunch of pretentious BS ...

It doesn't actually say PS3 "is a PC". It says certain features are like a PC. And that's fair enough if you can actually plug in any 2.5" SATA hard disk, or any USB memory card reader or what have you. That's exactly how it should be - when you boil these consoles down, there's technically no reason why you shouldn't be able to use standard components instead of expensive, proprietary peripherals (as MS continues to do with 360 - even Nintendo will let you use USB flash drives with Wii). This is good news!

Very first sentence: "PS3 is a computer". Duh.
Anyway, I already have a computer. I don't want to spend £425 on a new one that doesn't even have a keyboard, word processor or printer, thanks very much. If I want to buy a console, it's because I want to buy a games machine. So much for "good news".

So... if it's competing with the PC and not consoles, they already lost! Hah, that's a silly decision... after all, can you see games like World of Warcraft, Supreme Commander and Dawn of War coming to PS3? No.
And Dell are underselling them with their £300 PCs :D

Man, I can't even count how many times they mentioned buying other adaptors and routers and whatnot in that QA. So now we gotta buy an at least $500 system and 50 adaptors? Nice.
