I guarantee two things:

1) It will happen, adverts will creep into games just like they do everywhere else

2) When it does, I'll be less likely to play games

Dude, I tell you if they introduce advertising in games, I'll stop playing and take up, like, another entertainment medium that doesn't have adverts, or something. Like TV, or the movies, or something and stuff.

7.1 Surround, 140 inch 1080p projector. Loadsa consoles. Suck my knobs SS4!

Ads in gams make no difference. If it's set in the real world then so what.
Nasty product placement is what I think people might not like.
Imagine Zelda with product placements in it, and it'd be stupid products too, trying to shoehorn something in.
Ads in GT are different. They are there to make the game more believable. Like all sports things now
Walking/Driving/Swimming/Running billboards, the lot of them
