I don't get what all this business is about Tomb Raider, really. The latest version "looks" not that different from any of the others.

I don't think it ever has been a bad game, or that there's been any reason to change it. Personally, I simply got bored of playing it after 4 or 5 sequels.

The other thing, that may or may not just be me, is that I didn't play it just because it had a girl in it.

As has been said many times before, given the camera angle and what's "on display" most of the time, I'd rather be looking at a girl for the umpteen hours I play the game.

I nearly died when I read that.

Massive upping of poly count. Smoother, higher resolution textures. Gameplay overhaul. Back to Tomb Raiding!

Lots of difference. This is the first time since the first game I've actually wanted to play a LCTR game.

I liken Tomb Raider to Joan Rivers. Another facelift, but still old and decrepid.

If CD and Core can learn from Prince of Persia and God of War, then Lara can be back on form.

The PoP games, especially Sand of Time, had the exploration bits very right. GoW had the involving storyline and level design right. The combat in both was sword-based, so doesn't translate well to Tomb Raider, but the levels of combat were appropriate to the themes of those other games.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the new Tomb Raider game, getting Tony Gard back on board will hopefully enable the game to get back to the roots of the experience.
