sounds alot like that whole "see if it bothers you" line that nintendo got ragged on so badly for. So, where is everyone bashing sony for their misstreatment of customers?
Come on... anyone?

Dude, it's exactly the same s**tty attitude. But it is at least four times as likely to have a dead pixel on a 480 x 272 pixel screen than 256x192.

But my PSP has no dead pixels, so I don't care ;-)

7.1 Surround, 140 inch 1080p projector. Loadsa consoles. Suck my knobs SS4!

actually:
480 x 272 = 130560
256 x 192 = 49152
130560/49152 = 2.65625
sooo by your assumptions sony's attitude is about 2.6 times less s**ty than nintendos but

$150 / $250 = 1.66

so...
49152pixels x 1.66 = 81919 pixels

130560/81919 = 1.6

sooo... nintendos attitude is 1.6 times s**ttier than sonys... except...

DS = 2 screens, sooo....
with the poportionate number of pixels adjusted by cost...
81919*2 = 163838
130560/163838 = .79

there for sony is actually being, roughly, 25% s**ttier than nintendo.

so we can conclude that i am actually just bored at work and killing time :)
