Dear old Sony.

Very soon they will release the PSP House Keeper update, which allows the PSP to interact with your vacuum, washing machine, microwave and hairdryer. Without a doubt the PSP will be the ultimate "multimedia" device.

I hear you can even wirelessly connect to the Internet and control your Hoover remotely using the joypad checking that you haven't missed a patch using the PSP Wireless Webcam.
No longer frequenting SPOnG. It's been nice knowing you guys :).

I dunno LUPOS, it's a bit subtle. :-)

Anyway, at no point did Sony say "The PSP is all about the games", "The PSP is only a games console" or "The PSP will only do games, and maybe movies, oh and music, but that's it!" However, those statements have all come from MS, in one for or another, with regards to the XBox.

It's not the intent we complain about, it's the lying about the intent, then changing tack, then saying it wasn't obvious in the first place. Sony have been shouting about convergance and media centres for ages, MS took the opposing view first, waited for the Sony hype to die down then announced it as their idea. Fortunatly, some of us have memories.

Back to the point. I dunno if this is a good idea. Maybe short emails, SMS length or so. However long emails and documents are going to be awful to write on the PSP, even with a keyboard.

How are you going to hold it, view the screen and type on a keyboard? If it had a touch screen, no probs, one handed writing with text recognition, but with a keyboard? No chance.

Don't be silly, you just use your Aibo to view the carpet. It has a built in camera.

You do have an Aibo, don't you?

yea... but when sony is open about there plans for their console nobody thinks its a problem cause they are being honest about taking over your entire house (vacume included aparently). But when M$ changes strategies instead of just reporting that fact that they are taking a differnt angle on their next console some people (lets not name names) go flying off the handle about the impending doom fo the M$ trojan horse and how its going to take over our lives *cue people running in terror*.

i find it entertaining that by implementing a new game play style nintendo has also create a "trojan horse" more suited for word processing and email sending than the psp will ever be. Besides the general handwriting recognition you coudl also put a full key board on the bottom screen and have the text on the top!

To clarify i dont think this is nintendos plan... i just find it funny.
