Are you sure you're using MotionPlus? Why would Virtua Tennis use the bar/cursor, since MotionPlus eliminates the need for it? And I seem to notice plenty of times in Grand Slam where the ball is out of bounds. Also, Virtua Tennis more fluid? Sure, if fluidity means choppy graphics with clearly-missing frames of animation (not to mention frame-stuttering). Wow, I question how much you actually played either game.
