Summary

Over the years, AM2 has practically defined the arcade experience with titles such as Hang-On, Space Harrier, Afterburner, Virtua Fighter, and Daytona USA. In fact, AM2 is such a strong name in the industry that when Sega's AM Departments were spun-off and renamed, AM2 kept their name. Formed in 1983, AM2 employs about 200 people at their offices in Tokyo's Shibuya district.

Software Highlights from Credited Titles

AM2's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1989 title, "Sword of Vermillion" (Sega Megadrive).

The company has been involved titles released on the Wii, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, Arcade, Dreamcast, Saturn, Sega Megadrive and Sega Master System. Of these, "Virtua Fighter 3tb" (Dreamcast), "Shenmue 2" (Dreamcast), "Shenmue" (Dreamcast), "18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker" (Dreamcast), "Ferrari F355 Challenge" (Dreamcast) has been a best selling title.

The company's most recent involvement was on the 2007 release "Ghost Squad" (Wii).
