I've been watching horror movies and playing 'shoot-em up' video games since I was at least 5 years old. I have no criminal record, no "violent tendencies', etc. I believe the real problem has to do with parents not taking responsibility for their children. Consoles and PC games have become the modern babysitters. Parents don't have time for their kids anymore and they don't 'talk' to them either. If parents were more involved in their children's lives these school shootings and gun violence would reduce tremendously. For most of these teen killers (Columbine, Sandy Hook, etc) there were obviously some sort of mental issues going on before the incidents. It had nothing to do with video games or movies and more to do with depressed, miserable and isolated kids that needed help. And no one took the time to spend with them to try and figure out what was going on. I am sick to death of games and movies being blamed for every violent outbreak that happens in this country. Every individual American citizen needs to take ownership and responsibility of his/her own actions.
