Kutaragi Laments Sony’s Lack of PlayStation Vision
Speaking to assembled foreign press in Tokyo, Sony executive Ken Kutaragi has openly lamented the firm’s lack of vision when seeking to exploit portable media options.

Kutaragi-san claimed that in spite of widespread pressure from sectors within Sony Corp to maximise media convergence possibilities, resistance from internal divisions had diluted the firm’s wider consumer offerings and options.

Kutaragi claimed that henceforth, all divisions within the world’s largest supplier of consumer electronics would be operating more closely, sharing common goals for growth and with heightened cross-department visibility and communications. “It's just starting," he told reporters. "We are growing up."

It was claimed that concerns over piracy needed to be bottomed out with a test device, which is the PlayStation Portable, a machine capable of playing both music and movies. If the PlayStation offshoot can fend off endemic piracy attempts of Sony’s IP, more iPod inspired products may emerge.
