Official: No European Xbox 360 Price Cut or New Model
Microsoft has told SPOnG that the changes to its hardware offering in North America will not be reflected in the UK.

SPOnG was told by a representative:

"The 60GB Xbox 360 and the 20GB clearance sale are for the US only. We have not announced any changes in Xbox 360 offerings or pricing in Europe."

Over in North America, the new 60GB 360 will be brought in at the same price point that the 20GB model held over there. The 20GB 360 has had $50 (£25) shaved off its price and will be phased out. You can read SPOnG's report here.

Of course, while the statement about the 60GB and 20GB 360s in Europe appears fairly definitive, the phrase "We have not announced any changes in Xbox 360 offerings or pricing in Europe" looms large. Could different changes to the 360's hardware line-up be in the pipeline for Europe? It certainly seems possible, given the lack of confirmation that the full line-up will remain the same.

"We have a motion-controller."

"We have bought Take-Two."

"We are making Xbox Live free."

"The smaller, slimmer Xbox Lite will cost $x and look like this..."

"Did we mention Too Human? No? Good."

"We are moving forward 24/7 out of the box creating new synergies in a world-leading paradigm shift to maximise entertainment life-style experiences with innovation... "

Etc etc etc
