Atari's Alone in the Dark Delayed

A dab of polish being applied

Posted by Staff
Atari has sent word that its upcoming survival horror title, Alone in the Dark, has been delayed.

Previously scheduled for a May release, the PC, Xbox 360, Wii and PS2 versions will now be out on 20th June, coming four days later in the US. SPOnG checked in with an Atari rep who told us that the PS3 version will be out "towards the end of the year."

On the delay of the non-PS3 versions, Atari tells us, "The game has been postponed from May to allow the development team at Eden Games to polish the game to an even higher standard and deliver the best possible experience to gamers with this remarkable product."

Too many platforms imo, which can sometimes *dilute* the game imo. They should just stick to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 again imo.

However if Atari can deliver with this game and not only have outstanding gameplay and visuals this will be the FIRST ever Atari game to amaze me.

Alone in the dark 4 was pretty good on PS2, i have high hopes for this but i fear they have again attempted to copy Resident Evil gameplay adding third person view and it could go very very wrong, but we will see, now resident evil 5 where the hell are you?
