Japanese software charts inside

9 Jan 2008

Nintendo has said that Wii Fit (Wii Fitness, when it gets released over here) has hit the one million sales mark in Japan in its first month on sale - to be exact from December 1st until January 6th, according to the Associated Press.

That's one in every 127.5 men, women in children in Japan who now owns a copy. It also means that nearly 1 in 5 Japanese Wii owners has a copy. SPOnG's man in Japan got his mitts on the game - which has been on sale since December 1st - and see what he thinks of it here.

Meanwhile, Media Create has just got around to releasing the Japanese software charts for December 24th to December 31st, with Super Robot Wars OG Gaiden getting the last Japanese Number 1 of 2007. You can see the Japanese Top 30 in full below.

Japan ended 2007 on a high note for games, with the industry over there having a record year.

Call me a wussie, but I'm getting this. I'm the type of person who lives a very healthy lifestyle (aside from er,...reviewing absinthe, but for the record I do drink in strict moderation) in terms of nutrition, taking my vitamins, and exercising and working out regularly. So games like DDR, Yourself! Fitness, and Wii Sports make it easier to maintain this routine because they make it more enjoyable. Wii Fit, from the looks of it, while every mini game may not be the greatest, it holds a surprisingly complete body workout targeting specific muscles and tracks your progress to show you how far you've come. And yes, it will be expensive, but it's the same price as the next-gen DDR bundles, so can we really complain?
