PlayStation 3 Powered Tekken 6 Arcade Details
Namco Bandai Games held its Arcade Private Show to trade and operators in Japan during June and, along with new driving games (Maximum Tune 3 and MotoGP), it showed the Japanese production layout of the big fighter outing - seen by many as the most important brawler release this year.

Shown only to the trade, Tekken 6 was presented in a four-cabinet configuration; each player competing on their own cabinet with a full Hi-Def display. The audience was not forgotten and viewed the action on a special live display screen. The system is supported by the use of TEKKEN.NET (licensed and based on SEGA's ALL.NET tournament network), with players able to customise their game characters with acquired clothing and features all stored on their IC card.

The cabinet configuration highly resembled SEGA's ‘Virtua Fighter 5 Ver.C’ brawler game configuration, bar the use of HD displays. Tekken 6 is the first arcade game to run on the arcade version of the Playstation 3 and in 720p HD. Sources are saying that, via the TEKKEN.NET, player characters will be able to be swapped from the home and arcade versions. The coin-op product will be released in Japanese arcades for November - international release dates have yet to be announced.
