‘Wii Move You’ tagline blitz planned.

Nintendo Announces Biggest Ever Online Spend
Nintendo is planning the biggest online, TV and sampling campaigns it has ever undertaken in the UK according to Robert Lowe, Nintendo's product manager for home consoles, in a recent interview with respected online marketing trade rag New Media Age.

"We're just in the final stages of putting our media plan together for Wii, but in terms of online, our spend is way more than anything we've done before," Lowe told NMA.

He continued: "There will be three main channels through which we'll communicate Wii - online, TV and sampling - and of the top line ad budget of £10m-£11m, leading up to the December launch, a large proportion is going online."

The tagline for the campaign is 'Wii Move You' (with 'Wii Will Rock You' almost certainly having been dropped as too cheesy, despite what certain SPOnG staffers continue to argue). 'Wii Move You' spots are planned in on major portals including Lycos, Yahoo! and MSN. TV spots have yet to be finalised, so we will bring you news on that as we get it.

"Particularly over the launch week we'll completely take them over - you'll go online and see Wii everywhere," Lowe confidently asserted.

Well, who are we to argue with what Rob Lowe has to say! Say Rob, about last night...

I think that this is a bad thing. The largest proportion should be going on allowing people to actually play with the Wii before they purchase one.

I don't buy it! Now maybe if Molly Ringwald pitched it I'd be more interested. Come on, Brat Pack?!?!?!?! Anyone?!

So then you have nothing in your possession? Is not everthing you own advertised online? Aren't you advertising your thoughts in this forum? You are a paradox and will implode from the weight and level on contradicticity of this post. Chew on that.

If you can actually be arsed to read the 1st sentence before spewing
"I don’t think I have ever bought a product because it was advertised online" in other words, an online advert has never prompted me to go out and buy the product...

If companies didn't advertise on-line - sites like SPOnG would not be able to pay their staff, and you'd have to pay for content, or only get it only from "official" sources - and we all know how "Fair and balanced" they are.

By saying that, it is safe to assume you'd think the same of other products presented in the same way. You do not acknowledge the SPonG news, the E3 buzz, the conferences, the NON-online marketing. Does not the concept of moving video games foward get you excited? Do you not like Mario or Samus? Do you have no soul man!?

And let me ask you this: Do you plan on buying a PS3 because that's more gimmicky than a Wii. With its motion tilting control and all.

Just saying that your position and wording on the subject has more flaws than a copy of Superman 64.
