Summary

Redeemer is a fast and seriously furious combat game that will see your TV screen plastered in gore.

You play as Vasily, once an elite operative for one of the biggest arms dealers in the world. After a near brush with being turned into a cyborg, Vasily has spent the last 20 years in a monastery trying to atone for his sins, and it's up to you to guide him through prayer and meditation as he tries to find inner peace...

No, no, not really. The corporation has nearly found you, and your path to redemption is brutal, bloody and murderous. Redeemer is a gleefully gore-stained, over-the-top stealth-'em-up cum brawler with occasional moments of gunplay.

It plays out from a top-down point of view in the manner of oldies like Alien Breed. Scattered around the landscape are assorted melee weapons and guns, but you can't take them for granted. They run out of ammo or structural integrity fast, and if you happen to be fighting a horde of mutants then you might have to resort to a fire extinguisher or some other piece of the environment that's just lying around. It's a system that means that Redeemer's fast-paced combat is ever-changing and you can't just settle into a button-spamming routine.

Should you tire of ripping your enemies apart in the story mode, however, you could try your hand at bludgeoning wave after wave of oncoming foes in arena mode, or team up with a pal in co-op.
